The victim of Thursday night’s shooting at Jezreel, St Philip, is Warrick Whitwright.

He is 50-years-old, of no fixed place of abode, but was last living in Ruby Tenantry Road, St Philip.

His mother Ilene Holder of Marchfield, St Philip, said she was unsure of what to say as she was not informed by police that her son was killed.

A resident of Jezreel said that around the time of the incident she heard two gunshots, which awakened her. When she looked outside a man was speaking to the victim. However, she said that by the time the ambulance arrived at the scene Whitright was dead.

Police say family members were officially contacted by police this evening.

Whitwright’s body was found near the St Philip District Hospital after lawmen responded to reports of gunshots in the area. (PR/SAT)
