24-hour polyclinic starts next month
July 1st is the date for the roll out of 24-hour service at the Winston Scott Polyclinic.
Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic made the announcement earlier this evening during a media briefing at the ministry’s office at the NIS Building, Culloden Road, St Michael.
Bostic said specially-contracted staff would undergo training and preparations over the next couple days.
The 24-hour system, which was scheduled to be in place earlier this year, hit some snags and the Ministry was locked in negotiations with the nurses and their respective trade unions.
The initiative was announced in the 2018 manifesto of the Barbados Labour Party, and was to be rolled out at Winston Scott Polyclinic at Ladymeade Gardens and the David Thompson Polyclinic at Glebe Land, St John. (DB)
