MISSING WITHOUT a trace.

That seems to be the situation surrounding Monday’s disappearance of American visitors Magdalena Devil, 25, and Oscar Suarez, 32, who went missing at sea after renting a jet ski at Holetown, St James, for a half-hour ride.

Yesterday, police held a joint press conference at Police Headquarters on Roebuck Street, The City, with the Barbados Coast Guard and the Regional Security Systems (RSS) where they revealed the grim news. After 48 hours of both air and sea searches extending as far as St Lucia and St Vincent, there had been no sightings of the couple nor the jet ski. suarez-and-devil-family

The news was delivered in the presence of family members Ninfa Urrutia and Susanna Cruz, the mother and sister of Suarez, and Antoine Devil and Eric Pierra, the father and cousin of Devil. While the relatives declined to speak to the media, they appeared worried and anxious. (MB)
