SOCIAL SCENE: A spirited occasion

Members of the West Indies Rum and Spirits Association took time out from their two-day meeting in Barbados last week to enjoy a cocktail evening at the Mount Gay Visitors Centre at Brandons, St Michael.

The visitors put their heads together in the business meeting to come up with ideas on how to make a contribution in the battle against problem drinking, but on Tuesday night it was about letting their hair down and enjoying fine Barbados spirits, food and music in an idyllic setting with ageing casks of rum and the sweet aroma of the sugar cane spirit.
