Three men injured following two shooting incidents
Lawmen were kept busy responding to two shooting incidents at Bank Hall, St Michael and Water Street, Christ Church last night.
Police Public relations Officer, acting inspector Rodney Inniss said, about 9:20 p.m two young males received gunshot injuries while at 3rd Avenue Mannings Land, Bank Hall St Michael.
Inniss reported, “A number of men travelling in a motor vehicle drove up next to a shop where the victims were outside, the occupants reportedly got out of the vehicle and opened fire then got back into the vehicle and drove off.”
A 27-year-old male whose name has not yet been released receive multiple wounds about his body and is listed in critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) while the other victim is a 25-year-old male was injured to the left side of his head. Both victims were transported to the QEH by private transport.
Inniss also reported on a second two shooting incident at Water Street, Christ Church which occurred around 9:10 p.m. Vemar Deroy Griffith,23 years of #43 Clearview Drive, Wotton, Christ Church received a gunshot wound to his left calve by an unknown masked man.
“The victim was playing a game of dominoes along with three other men when a man wearing a mask, a hat and dark clothing approached them, drew a firearm and told them not to move, they all ran off. As the victim turned to run he heard an explosion and felt pain in his leg, he ran to his home, ” Inniss said.
Griffith was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the QEH where he is receiving medical attention. (KOB/PR)
