Tragic fall rocks Pine

Valiant efforts of firefighters for just over an hour were not enough to save teenager Kyriq Boyce after he took a regular shortcut and plummeted 100 feet into a well.

But the 18-year-old’s tragic death should not have happened, said residents in the heavily-populated Pine, St Michael area where the incident occurred. 

They said they had been constantly complaining about that well and others in the area. 

Boyce was running an errand and stepped on the cover of the well at Martin Road, The Pine, around 12:30 p.m. and it collapsed. (CA)
