After a long night of performances, the 2019 MQI 98.1 The One Soca Monarch finalists were announced at 3:10 a.m., to the few that stayed behind, along with some artistes.

The judges’ task was to pick the best 14, and four women made the cut.

The fourteen advancing to meet Mikey and Lil Rick on July 28 are: Adrian Clarke, first-timer Betty B, Biggie Irie, Marvay, Faith, Jamal Slocombe, Jus D, Leadpipe, Marzville, Natahlee, Sanctuary, Skung Yung, Shaquille and TC.

The reserve is Bo Bo.

Some members of the audience were disappointed to hear that some of their favourites did not make the cut.
