AG: Death penalty can be imposed

The Constitution has been amended to allow courts to impose the death penalty if warranted, says Attorney General Dale Marshall.

He was responding to reports from the Court of Appeal that the Constitution had not been amended in keeping with the recommendations of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

The matters, outlined in the story headlined Judges In A Bind in yesterday’s Daily Nation, pertained to the Constitution and the conduct of criminal trials. (PR/AC)
