O’Brian and Navisha Worrell are feting partners and they plan to continue until they’re old and grey.
The couple, married for 16 years, are often the life of many a party during the Crop Over season. They have been feting together since they became friends back in 1994.
O’Brian, or “OB” as he’s more popularly known, and Navisha simply love all things Crop Over.
“Crop Over has always been a big thing for me. When I went to Trinidad to study I was involved in carnival. I really loved it. Anyone who knows me knows I love soca music and love to go out and dance. I can’t go out and stand up; I would rather stay home. I’ve missed one Grand Kadooment day since I started jumping,” O’Brian said.
Navisha, who was born and bred in Trinidad and Tobago, said feting is in her blood.
“I was born into it. I grew up in the heart of Tunapuna, where you would wake up in the early morning to watch the bands passing for J’ouvert. I knew that life from a child. When I got old enough and could afford it, I was playing mas. I just love it,” she said.
Each year, the very down to earth and party-loving couple have a standard list of parties to attend.
They said it has become a norm for them and during the interview, pointed out a nearby calendar with the list of their events slotted in. (DB)
