Barbados will be looking to make the Wright start at the Pan American Games here in Lima Peru with triathlete Matthew Wright jumping into competition early this morning.

With land temperatures dipping to 15 degrees Wright will be aiming to give Barbados a warm beginning following a spectacular opening ceremony last night.  Wright did not take part in the parade as he opted to rest for this morning’s action.

He hardly seemed concerned about the chilly start in almost freezing waters.  “I am not worried about the temperatures. I train in the United States and this is a normal summer in the US,” said Wright. (KB)
