More gunplay

THE unmistakable sound of gunshots on Monday night at Vauxhall No. 2 was far too familiar for residents of the Christ Church community and some of them fear innocent people could be hurt.

This latest shooting, which left Chesterfield Yearwood with injuries to the right elbow and left hip, reminded them of the death of 38-year-old Orlando “Lando” Forde who was gunned down nearby on June 14.

Forde, a father of five, who was known affectionately as “Pa”, was liming with friends when an assailant walked up to the group and asked for him. He then spoke to the gunman who shot him multiple times in his body and head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

Similarly, according to a police report, Yearwood was sitting with a group of men in a track by an unoccupied house near his home. (TG)
