Traffic changes for Grand Kadooment

The Public is advised that as a result of the annual Crop Over Festival the following traffic management changes will be implemented for Grand Kadooment.

 

1. Bands shall parade only along the route, commencing at Warrens and proceeding along the route to the Mighty Grynner Highway

2. Codrington Road from its junction with Waterford Road to its junction with Spooners Hill Road in the parish of Saint Michael shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

3. The following roads shall be closed to all vehicular traffic, except in respect of vehicles used in the Kadooment Day parade and vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee:

(a) Station Hill Road

(b) Bank Hall Cross Road

(c) Bank Hall Main Road

(d) Eagle Hall Road

(e) Black Rock Road

(f) Holborn Circle

(g) Prescod Boulevard and

(h) Mighty Grynner Highway

4. The Mighty Grynner Highway from its junction with Holborn Circle to its junction with Frank Worrell Round-a-bout & Black Rock Road  in the parish of Saint Michael shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except vehicles used in the Kadooment Day parade and vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

5. Between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. the Mighty Grynner Highway from its junction with Holborn Circle to its junction with Frank Worrell Round-a-bout & Black Rock Road in the parish of Saint Michael shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except vehicles  used in the Kadooment Day parade and vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

6. No person shall drive along, park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary on the route.

7. No person shall drive along, park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary along Stadium Road in the parish of Saint Michael, except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers.

8. All drivers and riders of vehicles, pedestrians and riders or leaders of animals using any of the roads specified in the paragraphs 2, 3, 4 and 5 or any of the routes specified in paragraph 6 shall exercise caution and shall comply with any order given by a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force in uniform.

9. Any person who contravenes these rules or fails to comply with any order given by a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force in uniform is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500 or to imprisonment for a term of three months.

10. These rules do not apply to vehicles used by the Royal Barbados Police Force, the Barbados Defence Force, and the Barbados Fire Service, or any emergency vehicle.

The Royal Barbados Police Force encourages the travelling Public to comply with the directions given by Police officers on duty who will be regulating traffic. (PR)
