Riley willing to work with CWI

Conde Riley is ready to put behind him his public spat with the top brass of Cricket West Indies (CWI) in the interest of taking the game forward.

Having been re-elected as president of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), the 66-year-old retired investment banker says it is time to move on after his stinging criticism of CWI – of which he is also a director – for removing the interim coaching staff of the West Indies team after its success in the home series against England and just ahead of the World Cup.

Riley did not mince his words when rebuking CWI, under new president Ricky Skerritt, after the body replaced interim head coach Richard Pybus and some of his support staff. But the long-standing CWI director says the focus is not about him but about working together to restore West Indies cricket as soon as possible. (HG)
