Moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms in the north of the island have prompted the Barbados Meteorological Services to issue a flood warning for northern and central districts of Barbados.

The warning went into effect at 1:20 p.m. and will remain until 6 p.m. today.

Rainfall accumulations of one to two inches (25 to 50 mm) have already been recorded across some northern districts and further accumulations of one to two inches (25 to 50 mm) are likely as the day progresses.

Residents in flood-prone areas are asked to remain on the alert and take the necessary precautions. (PR)
