Off-peak ease for PSVs
Public service vehicle (PSV) operators will now be allowed five more minutes to wait for passengers in the loading bay of the Constitution River Terminal.
Chairman of the Transport Authority, Ian Estwick, made this announcement yesterday after more than 20 PSV operators parked their vehicles in protest of the controversial five-minute rule.
Speaking to the media at the terminal yesterday evening, Estwick explained that between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. operators would be allowed to wait ten minutes for commuters to board.
“We have agreed to relax it during the off-peak period, but that is temporary, up until Monday morning . . . . All we are asking is for them to have consideration for the commuters and that is what we are working towards,” he said. (TG)
