The long awaited Cess On Milk incentive that proponents expect to lead to a lower price of milk to consumers is still on ice.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Indar Weir said on Wednesday that the “document [the bill] was still being worked on”.
He was speaking after the launch of the Farmers Empowerment and Enfranchisement Drive (FEED) programme starter kit distribution and plot allocation, held at the Soil Conservation Station, Haggatts, St Andrew.
In August, Weir said the ministry was consulting with farmers to review the Cess On Milk Bill. (SB)
