Call to team up against diabetes

THE DIABETES ASSOCIATION of Barbados is making an urgent appeal for a coordinated approach in the fight against non-communicable diseases in Barbados.

Yesterday, after a special church service at the Phillipi Gospel Assembly in Josey Hill, St Lucy, to launch Diabetes Month, which is internationally recognised in November, president Trudy Griffith said the lack of national coordination was posing a challenge.

“Getting information from the Ministry of Health is difficult,” she said.(SB)
