No other delicacy symbolises Independence more than a conkie.

As Barbados approaches its 53rd birthday on November 30, the Nation Publishing Co. Limited embarked on the initiative Conkie Friday to show appreciation to its readers.

Circulation manager at the Nation, Adrian Bowen, said more than 100 Nation customers received this treat as well as other giveaways at various Nation vendor locations on Friday.

“The ability to interact with our readers and join our vendors at our point of sales locations is integral to our community engagement commitment. We travelled to St Martins, St Philip, and to Salters in St George, as well as some St Michael areas,” he said.

Bowen said the team would be out again with vendors on November 29. (PR)
