‘Playful’ slap on rear ends up in court

He considered the slap he gave a woman on her buttocks to be a “light-hearted, playful” gesture.

But the woman who was on the receiving end of David Shane Maynard’s slap did not feel the same way, and Maynard ended up in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

“I did not grope her. It wasn’t in any aggressive manner,” Maynard told the court.

“Prior to that, I have known her for years. I have known her since schooldays. So I did it in a playful manner. It was something I have also done with her before without issue; so I just did the same thing and now it was an issue,” he said. (HLE)
