Ireland prepared for their series against the West Indies positively after they defeated the Wanderers Cricket Club by 45 runs yesterday at Dayrells Road.

James McCollum, Paul Stirling and Gary Wilson all registered half-centuries as Ireland posted a mammoth 338 for five on an excellent batting surface.

In reply, Wanderers reached a competitive 293-7 in the allotted 50 overs, compliments of 79 from Barbados Pride opening batsman Shayne Moseley and a ferocious 36-ball 83 by Roshon Primus, which included seven fours and seven massive sixes.

Openers McCollum and Stirling got Ireland off to a flyer after winning the toss with a 131-opening stand. (NI)
