Two months after the killing of 16-year-old Temario Holder on the compound of Frederick Smith Secondary School, education officials fear this will impact on the numbers choosing this school as an option in the May 5 Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination.

Last November 8, the entire island was jolted when Temario, formerly of Checker Hall, St Lucy, was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old schoolmate in the presence of horrified students and teachers at the Trents, St James institution.

That student was later charged with murder.

Addressing parents and guardians at a town hall meeting aimed at sensitising people about the exam, at The Lester Vaughan School, Cane Garden, St Thomas on Saturday, education officer in the Examination Section of the Ministry of Education, John Shepherd, said this was a problem they were sure would arise.
