A woman and her two sons lost their home and possessions to a house fire earlier today at Brathwaite’s Gap, Dayrell’s Road, St Michael.

The three-bedroom, one-bathroom uninsured wall house was occupied by 50-year-old Julia Cadogan and her two sons Damien 26, and Ramon, 27. The house was owned by Roland Jones.

Police say Damien was the last person to secure the house and leave it around 11:45 a.m., but 45 minutes later, neighbour Judy Howell saw smoke coming from the back yard and called the Barbados Fire Service.

Ten fire officers and two tenders from the Probyn Street, The City, and Worthing , Chist Church, under the command of Station Officer Patrick Edwards, responded to the fire.

It was extinguished about 1:20 pm.

Police are conducting investigations. (PR/SAT)
