Left-arm spinner Camarie Boyce enjoyed a dream first-class debut by grabbing a five-wicket haul to put Barbados Pride on top after the opening day of their fourth round West Indies Regional Four-Day Championship match against Leeward Islands Hurricanes in St Kitts yesterday.
The 20-year-old Boyce, claimed a wicket in his first over, added a further two in his next two overs and returned figures of five for 65 from 16 overs to help restrict the Hurricanes to 181 at Warner Park.
Kevin Stoute, returning to the team after missing the last match because of illness, assisted the cause by grabbing three for 18 and second-placed Barbados Pride built on the work of their bowlers by reaching 108 for two at stumps.
Shamarh Brooks and Jonathan Carter, both short of runs in the early part of the season, have featured in an unbroken third wicket partnership of 66. (CMC)
