BWA experiencing low waters levels at several facilities
The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has blamed “extreme regional drought conditions” for the water outages being experienced by some customers.
In statement this afternoon, the BWA said: “As the extreme regional drought conditions continue, water levels at some . . . reservoirs continue to read lower than normal. As a result, some of our customers being supplied by these systems will be experiencing lower than normal water pressure and/or water outages.”
It is asking members of the public who have water to be mindful and use it conservatively.
The Authority also said that tankers had been dispatched to those affected by outages but due to the demand, its personnel will be unable to fill personal water tanks “at this time”, and there would be delays in the tanker service.
