PdP says tougher times on the way
Barbadians should brace for things to get harder, says the People’s Party for Democracy and Development (PdP).
Though not giving a doom and gloom outlook for the Barbados economy, party members yesterday said that with the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus (Covid-19) and future tourist arrivals, the lack of a capital projects programme and the private sector not willing to pump money into the country, it was expecting very little growth in the next financial year.
During a press conference yesterday at the Opposition Leader’s Office at the temporarily relocated Parliament at Worthing Corporate Centre, Christ Church, spokesman for tourism and international transport Scott Weatherhead said the Mia Amor Mottley administration was not taking suggestions on board.
