Businesses can call hotline, says Haigh
Fairchild Street businesses financially hit as a result of ongoing demolition at the old National Insurance Scheme (NIS) building should contact the Transport Board and the Ministry of Agriculture.
That advice came from Joy-Ann Haigh, chief executive officer of Haigh Communications Inc., the company contracted to carry out public relations for the Bridgetown Transformation Project.
She was responding to a Back Page report in the last Saturday Sun, in which some business operators and vendors said they were feeling the pinch because of traffic changes necessitated by the demolition.
“No one contacted us saying that they did not receive a dislocation grant. If they are outside the exclusion zone, they would not have received one because they would not have been impacted,” she said. (RA)
