Stop coming to dump here!

Some Shop Hill, St Thomas residents have had it with the filthy habits of those from other parishes.

After more than two hours of raking mounds of roadside garbage opposite the Shop Hill Church of the Nazarene, residents said they wanted other people to stop dumping in their communities.

“We want something done about people driving about at night with garbage and dumping it in St Thomas. We are not the dump. We are the heart of the nation,” Virginia Catlin told the Sunday Sun yesterday.

Catlin, one of ten volunteers who came out for the clean-up that was one of the parish’s We Gatherin’ events, said the volunteers decided to tackle the neighbourhood instead of one of the parish’s gullies. (HLE)
