No change in BOA’s plans
The Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) is keeping its athletes in the field and letting them continue to fight for a chance to compete in this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Several boxers will be attempting to qualify for the July 24 to August 9 Games at a special meet in Argentina this month, and for now, athletes will continue to vie for qualification via the CARIFTA Swimming Championships next month, the CARIFTA Games in Bermuda, and other special qualifying tournaments in various disciplines.
This is despite the Games’ possible postponement or cancellation due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19) as it makes its way across Asia and into the Americas.
