Clash over party money
Opposition Leader Bishop Joseph Atherley is questioning the allocation of Parliament’s full political party funding to the ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP).
The St Michael West MP, who left the BLP and crossed the floor to become a one-man Opposition soon after the May 2018 General Election, clashed with his former colleagues over the issue on Friday night in the House of Assembly during a $2.31 million supplementary resolution for Parliament.
Minister in the Ministry of Finance Ryan Straughn told the House that the money requested regarded Parliament’s temporary relocation to the Worthing Corporate Centre in Christ Church. (GBM)
