The Transport Board has made an amendment to the times its first and last buses will be deployed during the curfew.

In a release earlier today, the Board said this change was made after dialogue with the relevant agencies “in an effort to ensure that the staff of the essential services are able to travel to and from work during these challenging times”.

“Effective immediately bus services will commence from 5 a.m. daily inbound and the last service will leave the various locations at 11 p.m. to transport essential services employees only, as all other persons must adhere to the issued timelines for the curfew,” the release said.

A previous release said the first bus was scheduled for 6:15 a.m. and the last bus at 7 p.m.

Barbados is under a curfew which started at 8 p.m. tonight. It ends to 6 a.m. daily and will remain in effect until April 14, 2020, unless Government deems it needs to be extended.

A public health emergency has been declared in response to the COVID-19 threat. The island has 26 confirmed cases. (SAT/PR)
