Barbadians, especially the elderly, are being reminded to avoid giving their national identification cards, national registration numbers, or prescriptions needing to be filled, to strangers.

A statement issued through Government Information Service said it should be noted that Government has not authorised anyone to collect and fill prescriptions on behalf of elderly or vulnerable people.

People are urged to safeguard their national Identification cards, and only accept assistance with filling prescriptions, if they are unable to complete this task, from trusted relatives or friends.

The statement said under the current Emergency Management arrangements, pharmacies are among the essential services, and will be open. Government-owned pharmacies will be opened from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for the Winston Scott Polyclinic Pharmacy, which will open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (BGIS)
