The Barbados Fire Service announced yesterday that all fire and life safety inspections and Fire and Life Safety certificates issued by the service have been suspended with immediate effect, until further notice.

People are advised that their current Fire and Life Safety certificate will remain valid until it is possible to safely conduct new inspections, and reinspections.

The Fire Service said in a statement applications for inspections can be made online by visiting the website, and clicking the inspection tab. There is no need to visit the office.

For queries, contact the Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement Unit at 836-7829, Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

These measures were implemented as a result of Government entering Stage 3 of the national response plan to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
