Shoppers for plastic bag ban

Some shoppers were not caught off-guard by the ban on all petro-based plastic bags, which took effect yesterday.

They said they were accustomed to using alternative products and ways of transporting their groceries.

At Popular Discounts yesterday afternoon, most of the scores of shoppers stood in line with branded reusable bags.

Others who exited the Spooners Hill, St Michael supermarket pushed trolleys to their vehicles or carried the groceries in the reusable bags. (TG)
