Prime Minister Mia Mottley is “on the road to recovery”.

Days after undergoing a medical procedure, she participated in a combined virtual meeting of the COVID-19 Cabinet sub-committee meeting and the Health Emergency Operations Committee, acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw said last night during a national address.

Bradshaw, who announced tighter restrictions under the curfew period which is scheduled to end on April 15, 2020 at 6 a.m., said Mottley was fully behind the measures she outlined.

The Prime Minister last addressed the nation on April 26 when she announced the number of COVID-19 cases had risen to 24, gave notice of the 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew and said there would be a mandatory quarantine for all visitors from the United States and the United Kingdom.

The number of confirmed cases has since risen to 45.

Mottley also announced she would be undergoing a medical procedure.

Bradshaw said the country’s leader “sends her warmest regards and very best wishes to all Barbadians at home and abroad”. (SAT)
