Czar: No proof of non-nationals infecting Bajans
There is no truth to social media posts that the spread of the coronavirus in Barbados is due to non-nationals coming here because the borders were open, says COVID-19 czar Richard Carter.
He sought to clarify what was circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook in particular that accused the Mia Amor Mottley administration of endangering the health of Barbadians by keeping the airport and seaport open while other regional countries had closed theirs.
“There is no definitive evidence of a local case being infected by a visitor. Almost all local cases have been relatives of Barbadian nationals and residents who travelled abroad,” said Carter.
