SACRIFICE has paid off for Queen’s College’s hardworking athlete Kamille Gaskin-Griffith.

The 17-year-old upper sixth student has secured a four-year scholarship at Indiana State University in the United States.

“My scholarship is a symbol of hard work. Growing up as an athlete in Barbados, the goal was always to earn a track and field scholarship in addition to using track to further my education,” she told MID-WEEK SPORT.

Gaskin-Griffith, who had qualified for the postponed CARIFTA Games in Bermuda in the multi-event pentathlon said she had to make numerous sacrifices in order to reach the top. (A-GB)
