New buses still in China, says Gooding-Edghill

The Transport Board will take possession of 34 new electric buses within a few weeks, confirmed chairman Ian Gooding-Edghill yesterday.

Presently the buses are in China, where they were manufactured. They are scheduled to leave there on April 23.

Gooding-Edghill’s statement came after a social media post showed ten neatly parked buses in the royal blue Transport Board colour, with one displaying the board’s distinguishing logo at the side. The post suggested the buses had arrived at the Bridgetown Port.

However, the chairman dismissed this as fake news and pointed out “the manufacturing plant has advised the Transport Board that the buses are ready to be shipped”. (SP)
