Warning for ‘rogue’ businesses
Businesses not cleared for reopening under the coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions will be sought out and closed, said Minister of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce Dwight Sutherland.
He issued the warning while on a tour of two food stores on May 8.
The minister said Government will launch a special certificate as proof a business is a safe place to work.
“We don’t value recklessness, and I’m sure the Attorney General, once [made aware], will have the sub-committee investigate any such instances. We will let them know it cannot be business as usual and if that means closing them down, then the Attorney General will enforce that,” he said.
