CXC exams going ahead in July

The Caribbean Examinations Council’s (CXC) CSEC, CAPE and CCSLC examinations will go ahead in July as scheduled.

Registrar Dr Wayne Wesley yesterday confirmed this would be the date for the regional examination, with results to be made available by the first week of September 2020, in accordance with approval given at the First Emergency Virtual Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) in May.

That meeting, chaired by Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Education Michael Browne, was attended by Ministers of Education, senior Ministry of Education officials from across CARICOM and key stakeholders stakeholders, including CXC, University of the West Indies, CUT and (other stakeholders).

In a virtual press conference yesterday, Wesley clarified the process for the modified examination and provided detailed information on the approach. (GC)
