Hard work and consistency has paid off for dynamic all-rounder Raymon Reifer. He was rewarded with a place in the West Indies 14-man squad for the forthcoming three-Test tour of England.
Reifer, whose left-arm angle and variations, along with his stubborn lower-order batting, has made him one of the leading all-rounders in regional cricket over the past six seasons, told the Weekend Nation he was happy the West Indies selectors had shown faith in him.
“It is good to be back in West Indies colours. I am looking forward to this tour. It is a bit of mixed emotions. I am a bit surprised but really happy and looking forward to the opportunity.
“One always looks forward to representing the West Indies because it is a childhood dream,” said Reifer, who was born in Archer’s Road, St Lucy, and raised in Husbands, St James. (MK)
