The Ministry of Education’s ability to provide online education received a big boost recently.
The ministry was presented with 50 Chrome Book devices from Guardian Group and Acting Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson was all smiles upon receiving them.
“For the last month, since May 11, we have been on a tech drive to equip the students without electronic devices with some form of Kindle, table, or computer. This is the largest donation we’ve had with Chrome Books, as most of the donations we’ve had were Kindle Fires or tablets,” she explained.
Adamson said the donation was much appreciated, as they continue to seek 10 000 such devices.
“There are a lot of children out there [still without] and I’m receiving calls daily . . . for devices. Some have been using cell phones, but now that we are opening back, a lot of persons have returned to work, [and] those cell phones have returned with the individuals. So the cry for devices is even greater out there,” she said. (BA)
