UPDATE: Four accused of murder, additional charges

Four murder accused are expected to appear in the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court, which is sitting at the Eric Holder Complex in St Joseph, on June 16.

In addition to the murder charge, one of the accused has been charged with other offences.

According to a statement from police today, people jointly charged with the murder of Anthony Layne which occurred on June 4, 2020 at Lead Vale, Christ Church are: Ade Omotunde Blackman, 23, of River Land, St Philip; Shawn Orlando Crookendale, 39, of Skeetes Road, St Michael; 36-year-old O’shea Kai Greenidge of #219 Ruby, St Philip; and Jason Ricardo Layne, 36, of Lead Vale, Christ Church.

Blackman has also been charged with the following offences that occurred on June 4, 2020:

1. Possession of a firearm without a valid licence to do so.

2. Possession of one round of ammunition without a permit to do so.

3. Had in his possession a firearm with intent to prevent the lawful arrest of himself.

4. Had in his possession a firearm without a valid licence to do so.

5. Possession of twelve (12) rounds of ammunition without a permit to do so. (PR/KG)
