People taking advantage of Barbados’ 12-Month Welcome Stamp offer must be earning a minimum of US$50 000 annually.
This is the “reasonably low” bar Minister of Tourism Kerrie Symmonds said yesterday had been set as qualification to come and work in Barbados while riding out the COVID-19 challenge.
He explained the intention was “to draw as wide a degree of traffic as possible on this programme in order to adequately compensate for the downfall in revenue from the normal tourism operations”.
Those expressing an interest in the programme must also have a valid passport and must present evidence of an arrangement for health insurance, which Symmonds said could also be bought from a local insurance provider. (GC)
