BWA reminds customers to store water

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has reminded residents to store an adequate supply of water with Barbados under a hurricane watch and tropical storm warning as a result of Tropical Storm Gonzalo.

An advisory issued today recommended storing water for family members and pets. The suggested amount is five gallons per person, per day for at least five days.

“Water should be stored in clean, covered containers. The Authority’s community tanks will be filled and secured prior to the passage of the storm in an effort to prevent the tanks from becoming missiles and to ensure that the water is available for use after the storm,” the statement said.

To report an emergency in the aftermath of the storm, please call 836-4655, 836-4683, 836-4766 or 836-4900. The BWA urges everyone to be prepared and stay safe. (PR)
