Ten-year-old Demarco Gibbs is still in the Intensive Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

His mother Tricia Gibbs, who keeps a daily vigil by his bedside, said that she was praying for a full recovery.

Demarco was hospitalised on June 14 after being struck in the head with pieces of wood by four of his playmates.

The police at Black Rock Station in St Michael are investigating.

He was released from the hospital after spending more than two weeks in the ICU and two more weeks on a ward, but last Thursday he complained of feeling ill and fell into a coma again while being treated at the QEH. (MB)
