“Give me seven days!”
That was the request which new Minister of Sport Dwight Sutherland made to a cross section of sports associations attending a National Sports Council meeting on Wednesday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.
It was called to look at several issues relevant to sports post- COVID-19 restrictions.
Sutherland responded to concerns by president of the Barbados Table Tennis Association, Dale Rudder, and president of the Barbados Football Association, Randy Harris, about approval of protocols for their sport to return to play.
Rudder said six weeks prior, his association prepared protocols and found difficulty in getting someone from the COVID-19 monitoring unit to examine them to ensure that table tennis was not committing any illegal acts. (KB)
