The United States on Thursday issued a Level 3 Travel Advisory for Barbados.
The advisory asked US citizens to reconsider travel to Barbados due to “health and safety measures and COVID-related conditions”.
“Barbados has lifted stay at home orders, and resumed some transportation options, and businesses operations. Visit the Embassy’s COVID-19 page for more information on COVID-19 in Barbados,” the advisory said.
The advisory was posted on the website of the US State Department. Level 4 is the highest advisory.
The Government of Barbados today issued a statement on the implementation of a travel “bubble” for specific countries with a low incidence of novel coronavirus COVID-19, effective August 5, 2020. They are St Vincent, St Lucia, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis and Grenada.
Commercial flights to Barbados resumed on July 12, after borders were closed to limit the spread of COVID-19.
If they decide to travel, US citizens have also been advised to review the Crime and Safety Report for Barbados. (KG)
