UPDATE: Road fatality in St James

A St James man was pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicular accident which occurred around 2:30 p.m. along Molyneux Road, Sandy Lane, in the same parish on Tuesday.

He was identified as Rommell Antonio Cyrus of Sion Hill, who was allegedly standing on the bed of a truck moments before the accident occurred.

According to police, Cyrus was on the truck owned by Winston Worrell of Upper Carlton, St James, which was travelling in an easterly direction.

The second vehicle, a white car owned by Mandel Knight of Ruby, St Philip, and driven by 61-year-old Marcia Yearwood of Bagatelle, St James, was travelling in the opposite direction.

Yearwood told police as she entered the corner, she noticed the body of a man flying through the air on her right side. It struck the right front fender of the car she was driving.

Police investigations are continuing.

This was Barbados’ seventh road fatality for 2020. (PR/SAT)
