The reopening of some schools has been pushed back even as the new school term started yesterday.

Many students returned to the physical classroom after a six-month break, but for others it will take as much as a week before they re-enter the classroom.

That was announced by Acting Chief Education Officer Joy Adamson during a press conference at the Ministry of Education’s Constitution Road, Bridgetown headquarters. She was delivering a report on the first day of school under the new COVID-19 regime.

St Matthew’s Primary, St Martin’s-Mangrove and Half Moon Primary will now be ready to welcome students from today. St Philip Primary and St Stephen’s Primary will be delayed by one more day and their gates scheduled to reopen tomorrow. (RA)
