President of the Barbados Cricket Association, Conde Riley, hailed the Barbados Pride team for its strong performance in the West Indies Championship over the last decade.
Riley said the Pride was cogent evidence that local cricket’s governing body was doing its part to rebuild West Indies cricket and praised the work of the coaching staff at the Everton Weekes Centre of Excellence for laying the groundwork.
The BCA president was addressing a luncheon yesterday on the Members’ Level of the Three Ws Stand at Kensington Oval, to celebrate the Pride for winning the Championship earlier this year.
Pride were crowned champions following a suspension of the Championship after eight rounds of matches because of the COVID-19 outbreak. They had accumulated 134.8 points and were 47 clear of nearest rivals, Guyana Jaguars. (AR)
